2018 Stamp~~Chinese Lunar New Year: Year of the Dog

The date of the Chinese New Year doesn’t occur on a certain day every year, because the festivities commence when a new moon appears between a specific time during January and February and continues for two weeks.
The parades and firecrackers and red paper on doors are essential elements to this event.

This forever stamp is disappointing, it’s the year of the dog not the year of the bamboo, yet the stamp features three bamboo plants. There’s a faint outline of a dog on the top left corner, though it’s the perfect image for the stamp, it’s transparent and vague.

An ancient dog statue or painting would have been preferable to bamboo, or a picture of my dog could have graced this stamp wondrously owing to her cuteness.
