“We must never forget that our small, daily acts can total a great sum of love. They can be the stars by which others find their way through the dark voyage of life.”
― Jamie Langston Turner, By the Light of a Thousand Stars
In 2007, I watched a documentary called The Bridge, which tells about the biggest suicide destination in the US–the Golden Gate Bridge.
One of the jumpers lived, a rare occurrence, and he spoke in respect to the day he walked to the bridge, he was crying and desperate, and no one cared. One lady glanced at his misery and asked him to take a picture of her against the backdrop of the bridge–he felt completely alone. Maybe, if one person had smiled at him that day or talked to him kindly, then his story might have had a different ending.
As the quote suggests, small acts of kindness can change someone’s day or even their life.
Kindness is free, and there are innumerable strategies to spread it around.
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
